Ben completed his Master of Physical Therapy from UBC after a Bachelor of Physical Education with a Major in Sport Performance from the University of Alberta. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, as well as post-graduate courses in needling from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
Growing up, Ben played just about every sport under the sun and as one of the more injury prone kids he subsequently found himself spending a lot of time at his local Physiotherapist’s office. This sparked an early passion for the importance of proper movement mechanics, injury recovery, and the healing power of movement. He has experience working with diverse patient populations, including elite and recreational athletes, pre- and post- surgical patients, geriatrics, and paediatrics.
His previous experience as a group fitness instructor and performance trainer, teaching everything from spin class to kettlebell boot camps, allows him to uniquely tailor rehabilitation programs to each individual regardless of their current fitness level. Ben believes in providing focused, evidence-based therapy that will empower his patients to achieve their health and performance goals and is humbled every day that he gets to be a part of getting somebody back to doing what they love to do.
Outside of the clinic, Ben can be found playing various recreational sports like ice hockey (keeping that NHL dream alive), golfing, snowboarding, tennis, beach volleyball, cycling, or enjoying the numerous hiking trails the west coast has to offer.
