Deanna is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2006 and Bachelor of Science in 2003.
She is a member of the Sport and Orthopedic Divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.
Deanna has completed numerous post-graduate courses and received her Diploma of Intermediate Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2010. Deanna is certified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute to perform medical acupuncture. Deanna is also certified under the Division of Sports Medicine, UBC Faculty of Medicine, to perform Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). She is an avid cyclist and is taking further courses on key concepts of bike fits and treatment of cycling-related injuries.
Deanna enjoys treating all types of patients. Her philosophy of individualized treatments incorporates manual therapy, medical acupuncture, IMS, education and exercise prescription. While studying at UBC, Deanna was involved in research on both breast cancer related lymphedema and the effects of exercise on quality of life in women living with breast cancer.
Deanna is an outdoor enthusiast playing competitive women’s soccer, cycling on her road bike, snowboarding, running and hiking. Deanna loves the challenge of triathlons and successfully completed the Oliver Half Ironman and Ironman Canada in 2011.
